Run With Us to Kick Off Fire Prevention Week

To kick off Fire Prevention Week, the San Diego Fire Rescue Foundation is holding a 5K Run/Walk & Kids Run on October 8, 2016. It's been a while since I've participated in a 5k and even longer for my two boys. We're excited to support this very worthy cause, at the same time enjoying each others' company in our beautiful city of San Diego.
My kids are most excited about running with local firefighters and I'm glad the event also raises much needed funds for the San Diego Fire Rescue Foundation. The money helps support their mission of providing enhanced equipment, training, and to support their community education program.

Join Us At The 5th Annual U.S. Sand Sculpting Challenge

One of the highlights of our summer is the U.S. Sand Sculpting Challenge! It's  returning to San Diego for it's fifth year. It's one of the world’s most important sand-sculpting competitions and we are super excited to see what is in store this year!

It will be held on a built-for- the-occasion beach on the "B" Street Pier in Downtown San Diego that will bring over 300 tons of sand to be dumped on the pier on San Diego’s Big Bay.

It’s easy for sculptors to call it one of the most creative atmospheres in the world, as it takes place in America’s Finest City with sandcastles stretching west nearly 1,000 feet into the bay beneath the beautiful San Diego skyline.

It’s open to the public Labor Day Weekend: September 2 - September 5, 2016.

My boys always look forward to the family fun to be had at the U.S. Sand Sculpting Challenge with the live entertainment, gourmet food trucks, and, of course, the kids giant sandbox and rides! This year kids in attendance will have a…
