Hello 2026!

Hello, friends and family! Welcome back to garciamemories.com. It has been quite a while since my last post, and life has been moving at lightning speed. I wanted to pause, take a breath, and share a few major milestones from our neck of the woods.

Professionally, I am still happily dedicated to my role as a school counselor at Sweetwater High, supporting our incredible students every day. I also recently wrapped up a fulfilling, whirlwind two-year term as president of the Sweetwater Counseling and Guidance Association labor union. It was an honor to advocate for our counselors, and though it was hard work, I’m grateful for the experience as I transition into a new chapter.

On the family front, our hearts are bursting with pride. Our eldest son officially graduated from high school as valedictorian! Watching him stand on that stage was an unforgettable moment of pure joy. Meanwhile, our youngest son is absolutely thriving as a rising junior, keeping us busy with basketball, playing cello in the orchestra, and staying deeply involved in our church activities.

Through all of these milestones, I am keeping it real about the personal transitions, too—like navigating the everyday ups and downs of perimenopause. It is definitely a journey of patience and self-care! But through every twist and turn, I am incredibly blessed (or he's blessed ;) to be walking this path alongside my husband.

Thank you all for being part of our story and keeping up with the Garcia family memories. If you want to see everyday snippets, photos, and quick updates, come keep up with me on Instagram @LovelyLysa!
