Happy 4th of July!
This year we decided to avoid the beach crowds and stay local. In hindsight, it was a great decision considering the fail of the big bay fireworks!
Anyways, we had lunch at Hilltop Park in Rancho Penasquitos.
I bought a cute terra cotta grill from Cost Plus that was perfect for our intimate BBQ: Pork BBQ, tomatoes with garlic, green onion, and soy sauce, rice, corn, and asparagus was delicious.
We had a great spot near the playground so our boys were able to play and be close enough to keep an eye on! They loved cruising round the park in their "car".
We even patronized a cute lemonade stand set up by a few cute little girls! Jelo loved it!
That evening we had dinner at our sister's place in Del Sur and watched the fireworks from Del Norte high School. My mom-in-law was waiting for the "big boom boom boom" at the end of the fireworks that didn't happen! Haha!
We had a great fourth with great family! Thankful to be an American!
