Find Love "Outside Mullingar" with SD Rep

The month of February is a special time each year. Not only because of Valentines' Day and the long Presidents Day Weekend, but also because my mom and I share our birthdays this month.

This year for mom's birthday, we had a mommy and daughter date at the San Diego REPertory Theatre to enjoy John Patrick Shanley’s new romantic comedy “Outside Mullingar”.

The characters Anthony and Rosemary are over-the-hill 40-something locals living in a tiny village in rural Ireland. They haven’t got a clue when it comes to love. Hope and togetherness are severely challenged, but the yearning for love of two eccentric souls is so great that they fight their way above the blaze toward happiness. You might have to fight back a few tears and the obligatory "awwwww...." might escape from your lips during the more touching parts of the play. This story is perfect for this Valentines season.

The show’s run begins Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016 and runs through Valentine’s Day on Feb. 14, 2016 with an opening night on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016 at 7 p.m. in the Lyceum Space Theatre at San Diego REP.

Single tickets are now on sale and begin at $33. Student tickets for $20 are also available for all performances. Tickets can be purchased online at www.SDRep.org, by phone at 619-544-1000 or by visiting the box office at 79 Horton Plaza, San Diego, CA 92101.
